Saxony, Westphalia, and Wurttemburg. The German States most of whom were
formerly members of the Holy Roman Empire were reorganized as The Confederation
of the Rhine. They were instrumental in providing troops in nearly all
the campaigns of Napoleon and later after the Russian debacle they turned
on their former French allies and most became their enemies.
